Making Christmas!

Only two things get me in the Christmas spirit (I'm more a Yule/Chrismas Eve celebrater, but whatever): holiday crafting and singing Christmas music. This is my third season singing at nursing homes with a local women's choir, and I love it. I've been made a pajama clad little girl again, a doll/milkmaid and a reindeer/frosty the snowman. I think I get more joy than I give. Tomorrow if the weather isn't too bad I'll be caroling at Clabber Girl Museum and bake shop.

As for crafting, I made massage oil candles as well as regular candles with jewelry, and my wish is that that they make someone happy this season. For my choir, I will have a basket full of votives and sugar scrub soaps to give to the ladies who give so much joy everywhere they sing.

This season was my first foray into whipped wax (messy but fun). It almost never turns out exactly as you expect, but it's wonderful anyway (kind of like life).

Happy Holidays

Kat

Isn't this season just filled with joy? the joy of creating, giving, singing, baking, home, family, and even receiving. Nice post!

So true! Our Church choir will go caroling to the shut-ins and convalescent homes on Sunday. I am not a member, but I hear good things come of their efforts, and the singers seem to enjoy it greatly. Anna

It seems you are enjoying this holiday season doing what you love to do. Giving more than receiving brings such a joy! What a great spirit!

What a great post showing how the Christmas spirit is spread by you, both vocally and with handmade gifts. Merry Yule to you!
