Antique Oriental etched multicolored matching Famille Noir Vase
Meiji Era, 2 "sister" vases, Japanese origin. Appraiser said marks on bottom are 18th century Kitei (Wake Heikichi) - refers to "Tortoise Hall" 1825-1875 whose family continued the mark.
The 6 colors on vase "Go Tsai" are vibrant, deep rich colors of blue, red, yellow,green, turquoise. The Vases measure 8 1/2" tall by 2 1/2" base. Each pattern is etched into the clay. Colored with the wonderful "alive" colors. Both vases are on a black background with multi-colored flowers, peacocks, butterflies, chrysanthemum and scrolls.
