Whale tail, Tribal bone pendant
In Maori Mythology, Tangaroa (also Takaroa) is one of the great gods the god of the sea. I carved this piece to represent him, it is a combination of a whales tail and the breaking waves of the ocean brought together in one piece and this piece represents our connection with it and the ocean.
A small inlay of paua shell gives it a beutiful finish.
This is another original design and piece from me.
The whale tail itself is a power full symbol of protection, strength, and a concern for conservation issues as well as respect for the creatures of our seas.
This piece would make a great gift as something very unique and is one of a kind. It has been polished to a glass like finish and very smooth to the touch.
The thread used for all my pieces is made of heavy duty waxed polyester and is of the highest quality and hand plaited by me.
As well as being water proof and long lasting it is also soft on the skin and comfortable to wear for long periods at a time.
It comes with a fully adjustable necklace so can be worn short or long.
