Rocker Girls Earrings - Guitar, Guitarist, Musician, ClockHands

These were inspired by seeing some cute metal Christmas angels a few years ago, and then recently remembering the paper dolls my sister and I used to play with when we were little. I began these by cutting out some simple little dresses that looked almost Chanel-style, which led to the design for the Ladies Who Lunch (another pair of earrings on this site). Then I thought the design could carry more movement and more fun, and I began cutting the dresses on an angle. This led to thrasher guitaristas and itty-bitty dresses that showed plenty of thigh. Some of the guitaristas have piercings around their dresses and hands. Some play left-handed. I generally figure one is the lead guitarist, another is the rhythm guitarist or bassist, and they can all sing.

I begin by cutting out the dress in a Robert-Palmer style, polishing up the edges, and bending the dress into the gestures of playing. I choose watch-faces to match, then cut the clock-hands and suspend them. Each guitar is made from two elements: clock-hands and/or watch-faces.
