DAKOTA BUFFALO DREAMS, Gourd Vase

Dakota Buffalo Dreams is a captivating small gourd vase with a featured Native American buffalo motif. The piece measures 7” tall x 5 ½” wide. The buffalo, in browns, white, and blues has opposing colors on the different sides of the gourd. The intricate rim design of colorful hatch lines further develops with two lightning ‘strikes’ down the sides of the gourd. The featured designs are enhanced with a special dimensional gloss finish to enliven the features.
After cleaning the outside of the dried gourd, a very time consuming process, the rim was cut with a mini jig saw. Then the inside, which is filled with membranes and seeds, was cleaned with a ball cleaner and drill. Hand sanding finished the interior job and then I sprayed the interior with a paint sealer. The design was hand drawn and pyroengraved onto the surface. The gourd was then dyed with various ink dyes which are heat set, and acrylic paints to add accents. Dimensional gloss finish was applied to the two buffalo, the rim and lightning strikes. The interior and exterior were both finished with a protective sealer to enhance the beauty for years to come.

Jewelry - Jewelry is packaged in little colored organza drawstring bags, which are then folded into tissue, tied with raffia and shipped in a bubble mailer.
Gourd Art - Gourd art pieces are wrapped in tissue and surrounded with bubble wrap for maximum stability. They are shipped in sturdy boxes to your destination.
