Roisin cardigan and hat PDF knitting pattern for babies and toddlers
This pattern will arrive in your e-mail inbox as a PDF, so you will be able to start knitting right away! Please note that Artfire does not have instant download, so you will need to check your e-mail. I check my e-mail regularly and send out the patterns as soon as I see the orders. I am on Pacific time, so if you live in another country and place your order while I am asleep, you will get your pattern after I have my morning coffee!
This knitting pattern is for a cardigan with cable details, as well as a matching hat. You can certainly adjust the sizes yourself by using larger or smaller needles, however the pattern itself does include sizing of the cardigan at the chest of 20", 22", and 24".
The cable is around the brim of the hat, down the front and back of the cardigan and along the saddle shoulder. If you can knit and purl, you can make this! This would also work for little boys, simply pick an an appealing colour.
Finished Measurements (all easily adjustable!)
Chest measurement of garment: 20 (22, 24)”
Length, from back of neck: 10 (11, 12)”
Sleeve seam: 7½ (8½, 9½”)
Hat: The cabled brim on the hat shown measures 18” unstretched, will stretch up to 23”, and measures 8” from crown to brim. You can change these measurements easily
I used 7 oz King Cole Courtelle Fashion Casuals DK for the outfit of hat and cardigan in the smallest size. Depending on the yarn used and length you choose for the cardigan body and sleeves, you will require an extra ball/skein of your chosen yarn.
The other hats were made with approximately 2 oz of leftover yarn from other projects. Use whatever yarn appeals to you to give you the gauge.
Size 6 U.K./8 U.S./5mm – whichever is just right for the gauge.
Yarn needle for sewing up
Four small buttons of your choice
2 safety pins
Gauge: 18 stitches and 24 rows = 4” square using stocking stitch on 5mm needles.

To keep postage costs down for the buyer, I ship by the most economical method - unless the buyer is in a rush, then I will find the expedient way.
I ship from Canada, and small packages must fit through a slot at the post office in order to qualify for reasonable postage rates. For example, a pair of earrings in a small jewellery box will cost four times the postage as the same pair wrapped securely in bubble wrap and tissue paper - even if both packages weigh the same. For this reason, I will not use jewellery boxes when shipping.
Unless something is damaged in shipping, I will not do returns nor exchanges.
