Leather Moleskine Refillable Cover - USA-Made "The Benjamin"

This genuine handcrafted leather journal cover for your Moleskine is beautifully hand cut, hand dyed, and hand sewn. You can hear the leather strap closure pop as you pull it tight against itself to hold it nice and snug around the 240 ruled pages*; a sound only genuine leather can make.

As with all my pieces, every hole was punched individually and every stitch is painstakingly done with braided cord to insure uncompromising strength. It all starts with vegetable tanned leather which means that bark and other vegetation is used vs. harsh chemicals in the tanning process. The veg tanning process also makes it excellent for tooling and dying to achieve a look that you will never see come out of a factory. You can see the imperfections and scars which yield further evidence of its authenticity. I call it heirloom because it will wear for generations and most likely be handed down from one to another. The scuffsand creases only enhance its patina effect and make it even more unique.

I have see leather items that purport to be hand made but were sewn with machines and stamped with machines as well. The artisan, the sculptor, and the craftsman are all a dying breed. Few of us are left. Look closely at what you might think is "hand made". My makers stamp is also a tool that I use which you will never find anywhere else; nor will you find anything similar on a manufactured product.
