Vintage German Cathedral Peridot Green Faceted Glass Bead Earrings, Vintage German 1950s Bronze Metallic Glass
Vintage West German peridot green faceted Cathedral glass beads 1950, Vintage 1980 Japanese bronze metallic glass beads,Vintage German gold lucite beads
Being an avid gardener, and admiring the beautiful iridescence of many of the insects I find in my garden ( even the Japanese Beetles who have devoured my flowers ) , I realized as I was designing these earrings, that they reminded me of these insects who have made themselves at home here.
Vintage bronze metallic glass beads from Japan have been paired with vintage German gold lucite from the 1950's. These two different metallic shades were the perfect 'frame' for these beautiful deep peridot green vintage German cathedral or 'window pane' glass beads from the 1950's.
◉ As a point of interest : The German glass bead industry began in 1948 when German glass makers were evicted from Czechoslovakia because of their German surnames. Of the two thousand or so workers and owners evicted- only about 2 or 3 were still making hand pressed glass in the 70's.
All the vintage German glass beads that I use in my work is from this earliest time period ( the 1950s ) and not the 1970s and later.
**These bronze glass beads have a gorgeous high polish - in fact, what you see as a 'black design' on them in many of the photos is the reflection of the camera and my hand being held up! Please note that these beads do not have any discoloration whatsoever and are in excellent condition! They were just incredibly difficult to photograph because of their smooth reflective surface! **
These earrings are a nice long 1 1/2" with the bottom Japanese bronze glass bead being approximately 3/4". They have been finished on gold filled ear wires.
These elegant earrings will arrive in a little box all ready for gift giving.

ORDERS OUTSIDE USA: International First Class rates are now crazy: $16.50 for any package weighing from 1-5 ounces. Even an order for 2-3 small bead items may cost $16.50 or more, depending on the type of material (stone versus resin, for example). We apologize in advance if we have to adjust the postage cost of an order that has been placed. We will understand if an order is rescinded when the postage cost is too high relative to the product value.
All international orders have contents described as "loose beads" and are flagged as "commercial samples" or " gift" if you prefer to make your life easier when receiving your beads. If you'd like us to mark your order as " gift" instead please let us know!

Love my beads! The coloring in the epidote was not as intense as illustrated, but it is certainly a good example of the mineral. The colors in the unakite beads are wonderful. The quality of the carving I would rate as good to excellent.
Nice beads!! Super fast thanks a lot!!!
I have dreamed of having a necklace such as the jade one. But the red one. That was a surprise. Both are beautiful. Thank you! Best, Jane
Lovely color;!interesting stones.
When I thought that I had ordered two of these and then checked out I had to order another set. The seller was very kind and combined my two orders and refunded my shipping.
