Rocketship Ornament, with three fins, with opening for Christmas light
From our Steampunk Rockets line, this adorable ornament is made from blown glass, using the traditional pipes and punties, and the huge blast furnace gloryhole. The rocket body is about 5 to 6 inches long. Each one is different, some longer or shorter, some a big thicker around the middle.... I made them using several colors of orange in the body, but then with a sprinkling of fiery red in the "blast cone". The cone is also open so that you can stick in one of your little Christmas lights. from a light string nearby, to light up the whole rocket! It's adorable!! The three fins are ribbed and colored the fiery red and then the piece has a little loop so you can hang it from your Christmas tree, letting the rocketship fly through the branches!
I make these rockets myself, in our island studio in the frozen wilds of the pacific northwest. They're nice and thick, kind of heavy, and meant to be heirloom ornaments, not the cheap China crap you find at KMart that will break as soon as you hang it. These are strong enough to withstand my porky Maine Coon cat, Watson, playing with them while I'm not looking!
Since each one is different, yours will be unique in the entire universe! It will also be signed by the artist (me, Joy).
Since each piece is created by hand, by us. If you like the style, but the colors aren't what you're looking for, drop me a line and we can work with you to create what you'd desire. Rather have a blue rocket? I can do that. A silvered one? Sure!
