Matte Jasper, Agate, Sodalite, Unakite, TigerEye, Aventurine Necklace
Details
Simple and easy classic styled matte or frosted gemstone necklace is one of those pieces you will regularly "go to" due to it's versatility. I fell in love with these matte gemstones as it totally changes the looks of the original stones to a softer, almost velvety appearance. I kept the design very simple as I wanted the stones to be the focus. In this necklace you will find amethyst, red jasper, green aventurine, carnelian, dalmation jasper, unakite, sodalite, artistic jasper, golden tigereye, peace stone, crystal and many other types of jasper.
I selected two sizes of matte gemstones and spaced them out in a symmetrical design. Again, to keep in line with the simplicity of the design. In between the gemstones I used two different shapes of pewter spaces. Small dainty daisy spacers and larger pewter roundels with a small dotted design etched on them. The necklace is finished off with moonlight twisted tornado crimps produced by ViaMurano here in the United States. Stainless wire guards were used to protect the beading wire from wear and to add longevity to the necklace. For the closure I used a fun beaded toggle clasp closure produced by TierraCast here in the United States. TierraCast is renowned for it's quality plated jewelry items and designs.
The overall length of the necklace is 21 inches or 53.34 centimeters in length. As an added bonus, and at no additional cost to you, I am including a complimentary pair of matching earrings using the same matte gemstones in amethyst, unakite and red jasper. The earrings will dangle from hypoallergenic silver-plated leverback earrings. I have included a photo of them in the gallery.
Gemstones are beautiful reflections of mother earth and what she can produce. The process to matte finish a bead is counter intuitive and actually requires more steps than the traditional polished stone. The gemstones are polished cut and drill polished as with normal gemstones. To create the matte finish it goes back into the tumbler with a fine grit powder, water and tiny stones to be tumbled until the desired look is achieved. Different stones will require different times to process based on the stones hardness.
The metaphysical properties of this necklace could be endless. With so many gemstones you could only achieve positive fulfillment as well as associated with all of the chakras.
To keep your jewelry clean you can wipe your stones and pearls with a soft cloth, or you can use a damp cloth when needed. I strongly advise against immersing your jewelry in water. Never use harsh abrasives or cleaners and avoid perfumes or lotions. I am of the opinion that ultrasonic cleaning is not a good idea for the kind of jewelry I make. Store the jewelry in a separate pouch to avoid the stones from becoming scratched or marred. My mantra is, make your jewelry the last thing you put on, and the first thing you take off! Most importantly, enjoy your jewelry!

Note: Please be aware that not all monitors will show colors exactly the same. The colors may appear lighter or darker based on the type of monitor you have. As I edit my photos I ensure they are as exact as they can be to my jewelry pieces. Natural and artificial lighting can enhance or diffuse shades of stones and crystals as you wear them. I also use different backgrounds in my photos so that you can see some of the color variance. Enjoy!
