Emma's Quirky Hat PDF knitting pattern in two styles

This is a fun little hat, which can be worn as made, or with a twist in the top. One style has equal bands of stocking stitch and reverse stocking stitch, and the other has a wider band of stocking stitch with a small band of reverse stocking stitch. Add a pom-pom if you like! Ideal for your little elf if made with stripes in Christmas colours. For a smaller or larger size, you simply change the needles up or down.

Sizes: hats measures 16" or 17" or 18" unstretched, depending on which needle size you use

You will need:
42 g (1.5 oz) any worsted yarn
Straight knitting needles:
for 16" hat - size 5mm (U.S. 8, or U.K. 6)
for 17" hat - size 5.5mm (U.S. 9, or U.K. 5)
for 18" hat - size 6mm (U.S. 10, or U.K. 4)
Note: if you prefer a tighter rib, simply use a smaller needle for that section.
