Peyote Amulet Bag Pattern "Foxie" and back by Deb Bergs
One of the favorite designs from my book "Spirit Bags, Wilderness Pathways", "Foxy" can be finished out in so many ways. Make it into an amulet bag with the provided front/back patterns, or do just the front or back and frame them for wall hangings. The finished design is aprox. 2 1/2" x 3", and uses just 28 colors! You will receive a digital file by email after purchase (please provide an email address with your order!) that will contain full color graphs with symbols, matching full color list of Delica colors/numbers and quantity of each color needed in order to help with ordering the beads. The patterns do not include instructions for the fringe or strap-use your imagination!
This design is to be worked in Peyote or Brick stitch, but my amulet bags are worked a bit different than most. Rather than working top to bottom, mine work from side to side! You start working on the front and then work straight into the back, without breaking off. When done, you simply take the last row beaded back to the first row beaded and they will zip together making your bag appear seamless! Once you have zippered the side together, pinch the bag together and whip stitch the bottom closed through the exposed threads. This will give you down-facing holes to string your fringe and strap from--no jagged rough edges! I love to see photos of the finished work from my designs!!
While you can not resell the pattern it's self, I have no issue with people selling work made from my designs. Whatever helps beaders to make a living is fine with me! These designs sell well at craft meets and on crafting sites, both done as amulet bags and framed for the wall. Simply mount on a piece of pretty backing and add some buttons, feathers and other things around them for accents.
